* IS 9301, IS 13056 and IS 13287 are published and mandatory standards for manufacturing hand pumps, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards, Govt. of India. Afridev & Malda hand pumps are manufactured as per Standards issued by SKAT, the Swiss Centre for Development Co-operation in Technology and Management.

Cylinder Assembly Options

Example: As per the above options, it is possible to order an Afridev DWHP with a 3LP, FRG, SS-U, i.e., an Afridev Deep well hand pump having a Pedestal with 3 legs, 10 mm dia. FRG rods with machined brass connectors and a mPVC jacketed Cylinder with SS liner and Universal Cylinder components.
NOTE:
  1. Above-ground assemblies of Mild Steel (MS) fabricated pumps are hot dipped galvanized.
  2. Capacity of water discharged is given in litres per hour at a pumping rate of 50 strokes per minute.
  3. Connecting rods are normally about 3 meters in length and made from bright bar with 12 mm dia. threaded coupler, Electro galvanized. In case of highly corrosive waters, Stainless Steel (SS)/Fibre Reinforced Glass (FRG) connecting rods are recommended . MS Eye & Hook connectors are supplied with hot dipped galvanised connecting rods.
  4. Riser pipes are generally MS hot dip galvanized either of 32 mm, 50 mm or 65 mm NB in 3 meters length.
  5. For highly corrosive water, pumps with µPVC pipes with "Bottom Support" can be supplied on special request. This is suited for deeper static water levels.
