 t Meera we are committed to continuous R & D of hand pump technology. This committment has contributed significantly to the several pioneering projects undertaken in partnership with international agencies for the past 25 years.
Our recent achievement has been the development of the Universal Cylinder components during 1997 - 99.
The concept is based on the fact that no single hand pump has been identified for a global water supply program. However, the below-ground components of all the pumps could be considered for unification and universal use. To provide such a sustainable, maintainable and affordable solution, Meera's R&D team has developed Universal Cylinder components for common use with India Mark II , India Mark III VLOM , India Mark IV VLOM / India Mark II Extra Deep Well , India Mark V VLOM and Afridev hand pumps.
Further work in this area has been extended in development of alternative materials for riser pipes and connecting rods.

- Modified India Mark II hand pump for GTZ, Germany for their project in Ghana.
- 2" dia. brass body Open Top Cylinder (OTC) for World Bank project in Philippines.
- Force and Lift India Mark III VLOM hand pump for schools in Zambia.
- 50 mm OTC Cylinder assembly with 225 mm stroke in Ethiopia.
- Adaptation of hand pumps with Wind Mills with Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd., India sponsored by the Department of Non - Conventional Energy, Government of India.
- Defluoridation plants for water treatment for the National Technology Mission for Drinking Water, Government of India.
- Iron removal plant attached with India Mark II and India Mark III hand pumps.
- India Mark III hand pump with 175 mm stroke length having 50 mm OTC assembly using µPVC pipes.
- Development of Solid Link pump for DANIDA, Denmark.
- Development of platform Shuttering & Fishing Tools for India Mark II and India Mark III pumps.
- Improvements to Nepal No.6 cast iron shallow well hand pump, Afridev deep well hand pump and Pedal Pump.
